Ok, another OUT OF BOUNDS warning light is going off. (Darwin knows I have
set off a few of those in my time)

"OUT OF BOUNDS" warning light, simple. It means you are operating out of the
bounds of your KNOWLEDGE base and flying on belief.

Example "Possibly the need for acceptance and affirmation in herd
organisms?"
Herd organisms - animals that exhibit a high need of socialization in order
to thrive and survive. Bee's, most primates, water buffalo, gazelle, et
cetera.

Klakor, study some rudamentory sociology and ethology

Bio-social - this terms speaks to a specific branch of psychology, that is
the other field a rudementary KNOWLEDGE in would greatly assist most in
here.

And, you didn't address my question, as asked. Although, good start.

The first one that pops into my mind is protection and education of young.
This is a pretty important one in small- and infrequent-offspring producers
such as ourselves. This may explain the retention of behaviors such as
life-mating and child-rearing. Monogamy however? Anyone know much about
pre-christian "marital" behaviors? Not me...

Possibly the need for acceptance and affirmation in herd organisms? One that
is self-aware usually wants to know that he/she is accepted by the pack, not
shunned or exiled. One that is indifferent to kin wouldn't necessarily stay
with the crowd, and may therefore be culled by good ole nature...

Ooooh, can't think of anymore right now. Good question though!

Love is a hormone. Oxytocin, to be specific. But so what! If it feels
good............
Do it!

"as abstract as god".............................giggle

the fluffie-bunny detecter is going "peep.........peep..............peep"

Here are some group-think questions: What are the biosocial precursors of
extreme emotional attachment? What bio-evolutionary benefits are forwarded
through the selection of this behavioral tendancy?

There are so many things that we as humans deem important. First we
have for to establish, wow is one thing important to a process. Food is
important for nutrition, and society is important for humans. We need
people. Whether we love them or not that's not important. But how we
interact with them is. Love is a deep concept, maybe as abstract as
god. But maybe the two are the same. The presence of love is important
whether we know it or not. What is more important than love.... life.

Love comes naturally, we don't have to justify it.
