I cordially invite you to publicly apologize for the "intolerables"
comment. Squid is a word for sailor..but unless you are active-
duty (preferably a squid or a leatherneck) or have honorably
retired as the same you don't get the priveledge of talking like
this ("intolerables")without being called out for being rude.
This is the only time I'll ask.

I won't apologize for the squid remark. But, I will clarify the remark.
I lived in San Diego, CA-home to thousands of Navy and Marine Corps
personnel stationed at Miramar Naval Air Station (formerly the Top Gun
Flight School), the Naval shipyards at 32nd Street, North Island Naval Air
Station, the Marine Corps Recruiting Depot, as well as, Camp Pendleton just
north of Oceanside, CA. My brother-in-law was in the Navy for 6 years,
and I have several close friends who are/were in the Navy. I've enough
experience living among, not with, military personnel to justify my remarks.
Put simply, squids are jerks of the sort you hear about going to Tijuana,
Mexico (15 minutes south of San Diego) getting drunk at the ripe age of 18,
making fools of themselves, their branch of military service and their
country, and then getting arrested while pissing in an alleyway behind a
cockroach infested strip club on Avenida de Revolucion by the local
Federales. ( I was witness to this event among others)
Navy personnel are just that, personnel in the navy. They respect and
honor their uniform, their branch of military service, and their country.
They serve and are duty-bound to their country. They offer respect and
honor to, both, those they meet in uniform and those not in uniform. (I was
witness to this, as well)
I've met and hung out with both types in my lifetime. I've been embarassed
by some and proud of others. And I was making an observation of a few posts
and made a comment regarding those posts. If the comment offended you, then
I am sorry. But, I won't retract the comment for anyone's sake.
You can be a squid and better yourself; you can be navy personnel and
belittle yourself.
The choice is up to the individual. The observer only points out what is
seen in his/her eyes.
