Re: virus: What it's all about - Ping Ben

Last year I stumbled upon a few websites that amazed me, because they
articulated thoughts that have been growing in me for the last few
years - and they articulated them better than I had ever been able to.
extropy.org was the first major site I found and from there I eventually
came to the CoV. I have felt somewhat alone, or at least very different
from everyone around me for many years because no one I've met thinks
similarly to me.

The Extropian Principles and the sins and virtues of the CoV were like a
beacon that gave me hope that this wasn't going to be another century of
human existence wasted by people clinging to the memory of their gods. I
feel like people like you on this list are slowly stumbling in the right
direction! I'm excited that I might be alive during the time our species
comes out of adolescence and starts collectively growing up.

During the last month... skimming through the e-mail from the list,
hoping to find something worth reading, I wondered if the list was
dying. I considered stepping away from it, but I stayed a little longer
because I knew that even at it worst, this list can teach me something.

Now it looks like the list is on an upswing, which is great! Maybe it
would be a good time to reread some of the inspiring literature you all
have run across to get into the groove.

Yeah, hermit's da man.

I've been listening. Thanks.
