I wish people would stop attacking Christianity on rational,
philosophical, or scientific grounds, and I especially wish people would
refrain from attacking it on ad hominem grounds.

So in a nutshell your wish is for everyone to stop "attacking" Christianity
on any grounds? I'll agree that the ad hominem arguements aimed at "Jesus"
are pretty misplaced in this forum... however, NOT attacking his
rationality, philosophy, or science... or worse yet, not attacking HIM with
a rational mindset is pure folly. Just let it continue, you say? "Religion
does some good things for some people" is NOT a valid arguement for allowing
it to continue to exist. Seems that's a bit like saying "some people enjoy
pedophelia so we should just tolerate it"
