Possibly, for that poll, since its intention does not seem to be to determine a virian consensus.

However, just because there is a single winner in results does not mean there must be a single choice in votes.

For example: an existing poll for the number of ratings grades has a list of choices 3,5,7,9,11 etc. Only one can be chosen.

However, I should be able to express my preference for 3 OR 5 as acceptable choices. There is only one, exclusive outcome, but that is no reason to restrict the expression of preference.

The purpose of a poll is to find a consensus single winner - not to determine the single choice within a given vector. I may feel that 3 or 5 is fine. (In fact that is exactly how I feel).

What is the purpose of restricting choices? Does it help, in any way, determine consensus?

For more info, please read: http://www.electionmethods.org

The technique is known as "approval voting" and it is proven to find more pareto and condorcet results than plurality. It is powerful consensus technology, and will result in a more powerful religion over time.

[simul] If there are more than two choices in any poll or vote, unless it is a question like "how old are you"... there should always be checkboxes instead of radiobuttons.

[Lucifer] That only makes sense when the options are not mutually exclusive. Many votes have more than 2 choices and all are mutually exclusive such as this one>> http://virus.lucifer.com/bbs/index.php?board=8;action=voteResults;idvote=3
