It is not Dubya the man of whom I am approving (after all, I have made it abundantly clear on list that I have serious problems with his reactionary domestic social agenda and his fiscally irresponsible taxation and spending policies); it is the foreign policy in regards to the War on Terrorists that he is pursuing which I commend. I do not see Kerry as being anywhere near adequate or acceptable in that regard, and believe that a Kerry presidency would be a helluva risky thing for many Americans, both at home and abroad,, and both near-term and down the road. I would not support any candidate, Democrat or Republican, that did not demonstrate such clear-eyed and consistent foreign policy realism.

....Joe, i seriously suspect that you imagine the people who are vehemently
against your beloved bush and his ways must LOVE kerry. this is not true.
i would prefer to have a few republicans that i know of in office in his
stead. just like the mindless partisans on television, i suspect if koko
the gorilla were to win the republican nomination you too would rush to
defend said choice. the odd thing is that you are obviously intelligent -
and yet this odd short circuit of logic exists within you.
