What I wouldn’t give for a forecast like that. Have you ever tried keeping a tan for any extended period of time in Iowa? Even on the days when it’s only partly cloudy, the time it usually clouds up just happens to be the perfect time for a person to be out sunbathing—between Noon and 4:00 p.m.

I suppose it’s a trivial thing, and a vain thing, but it’s still a thing. Maybe the best way to look at it is to see that the less often I get to do it, the more meaningful each time becomes. And it won’t be too terribly long before I will, once again, be laying out in the cattle pasture, basking in the Vitamin D–enhancing, skin cancer–exacerbating rays. Naked.

(BTW: If you ever have a baby grasshopper get tangled in your pubes, you’ll know why I’m so vehemently anti-Bush.)
