[Jake] Considerably less than half a million years old and much closer to
100,000 years old. Not very long lived at all at this point considering vast
expanse of evolutionary time that exceeds it by some order between 10^4 and
10^5 times as long. In terms of longevity, as a species we aren't even worth
mentioning, except for reasons of delusional vanity.

[Jake] A hopeful though still unproven position. I still place my bets on
the prokaryotes, or even the cockroaches in out-surviving us. If only I
could live long enough to collect on those bets.
