...of course, if one were to assume that overpopulation begets desperation
and thus poverty, which begets poor education, malnutrition and generalized
apathy at one's role in the big game, which pretty much begets the proper
soil for religious zealotry; one might then reason in a twisted manner that
wiping out thousands of children, thus effecting a miniature sort of
genocide could actually be a slow remedy to the overpopulation problem. if
it werent for the incumbent backlashes of genocide, this might have been a
debateable approach!

Some (mainly Saudi Arabian) terrorists killed about 3,000 people in New York
in November of last year.

It has been suggested that the \"collateral\" death toll in Afghanistan
already exceeds this number. The all too few prisoners taken during the
\"Afghan campaign\" appear not to be guilty of any crime - and indeed, it
seems that the US may be guilty of war crimes by holding them as they are
http://www.bartcop.com/arc-oped.htm (excellently written analysis
by the way).

Meanwhile, the US is killing 6000 Iraqi children a month. Those whom we
claim to be our allies in this exercise seem strangely reluctant to become
involved in fighting yet another war with us. One does not have to be gifted
with great understanding to comprehend why. After all, we have not yet
brought any recent wars to any decent conclusion - perhaps because war is
not usually the most appropriate tool to resolve troubles caused primarily
by poverty and belief.

In addition, despite suggestions by the smirking chimp
http://www.smirkingchimp.com, it seems that there is no
evidence linking Iraq to acts of terror, which gives the lie to
assertions that this is simply a component of an unwinnable \"war against
terror\". Unwinable, because as Isarel is currently demonstrating, one does
not halt terror by inducing more.

So excuse me if I wonder exactly how killing more Iraqi\'s is going to
appear to be \"satisfying\" to anyone? Other, of course, than to the
smirking chimp\'s daddy. I am sure that he will be proud of him...
