Not true. If the existence of God necessarily implies some state of affairs, and that state of affairs is not true, then you can logically conclude that God does not exist.

This kind of syllogism is technically called [url=http://www.wikipedia.com/wiki/Modus_tollens]modus tollens[/url]. Given an argument of this kind, people that take the existence of God as an axiom are forced to deny one of the premises. This tends to force them into some very uncomfortable corners. For example, they have to claim that either bad thing do not happen to good people, or that an all-knowing, all-powerful, good God allows bad things to happen to good people.
