Call for the Disownment of Joe Dees with Immediate Effect

This letter should be read in conjunction with [ Hermit, "Disownment", 2003-08-19 ] (http://virus.lucifer.com/bbs/index.php?board=54;action=display;threadid=29095)

    Jurisdiction

Dees claims to be a member of the CoV. Thus the CoV has Jurisdiction to determine his standing and the right to evaluate his actions.

    Accusation

If we examine Dees' behaviour over the last three years, he appears guilty of creating massive unhappiness and discord within the membership and of harming the reputation of the CoV. In the former through his conduct and actions making our forums unpleasant and unuseable by other members, in the latter in coninuously advocating the anti Islamic, neoconservative "Dees' America First and Only" belief system in such volumes and aggression as to preclude any effective response. A system which is rejected as bigoted by the vast majority of our membership and potential membership, yet which is now by default the "face" of the CoV.

    Action to Date

Joe Dees has been remonstrated with, appealed to, disciplined and the saga continues. We have offered a "soft schism" and this was not acceptable.

    Call for Immediate Action

At this point, the only fair response to the hypocritical vote to censure Jake Sapiens (a valued member no matter how much snotty nosed newcomers may deny attempt to deny it) while ignoring the egregarious and ongoing malevolence of Joe Dees, without even offering the possibility of an abstainment*, has resulted in forcing the membership into the hypocritical action of nullification*.

How much more damage are we to tolerate? David Lucifer, I suggest that at this point either the CoV will take action to Disown Dees, or a "hard schism" will inevitably follow.

    Recommended Process

A Vote To Disownment: A vote is established calling for the Immediate Disownment of Joe Dees.

A Vote to Shun: A second vote calling for the purging of selected or all material posted by Joe Dees to our various public forums to be held contemporaneously.

Franchise: All members of the CoV who have become, or register to become, members of the Rating system.

Duration: This Vote to close 36 hours after establishment.

Adjudication: The vote to be carried in the event of a 60% majority for the immediate disownment of Joe Dees.

Closure: Discussion of the results - whether positive or negative - to be declared off-topic forevermore after the vote is closed under pain of suspension per the standing rules.

*Nullification occurs when reasonable people people decide that the law or the court is grossly unfair or inappropriate and thus refuse to convict irrespective of evidence or argument.

*Abstention occurs when people refuse to vote on the grounds that the vote is rigged or inappropriate.
