Yash, misspleling in a fit of stupified astonishment is one thing. Clear
lack of comprehension of a holon within a formal system is what this is
evidence of. He is attmepting to create a situation to fit a definition.

Yeah, and you're the one writing Reproducability instead of Reproducibility?
And fundementalists instead of fundamentalists?

We could go on forever like this.

Some of the calculation methods described in the book can also be derived
and proven within the usual mathematical framework we know (algebra,
etc...), but it would demand that somebody is actively looking for a way to
make more efficient calculation to stumble upon them.

You should try some of the calculations and see for yourself.

The ones about division are particularly impressive.

You also miss the point about an efficient coding scheme can enable one to
store methods for easy memorisation and recall (related to memotechniques or
mnemonics)

Yash.

"Differential calculus also is utilized in the Vedic sutras for breaking

quadratic equations, solution of simultaneous equations, and many more. For
demonstrational purposes, we have only presented simple "

Why not just solve for the roots.

Many sutras, many methods. Make the method, fit the mantra.

The very first line in this hocus crapus is a jewel of incomprehension;

"One of the foremost <em>exponents</em> of Vedic math, the late Bharati
Krishna Tirtha Maharaja, author of Vedic Mathematics, has offered a glimpse
into the sophistication of Vedic math."

The freakin word is PROPONENT! Somebody get that nitwit and edumacation.

Again, GIGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mermaid,

many thanks for this post. There is information in it that I've been looking
for for years.

In fact, my first copy of the book has about 6 pages not printed. I had to
buy another copy to get the Gematric scheme which is described below in even
more detail here.

Thanks a lot. You are doing this searcher a lot of good!

Happy New Year to all.

Yash.

THE VEDIC NUMERICAL CODE

In the Sanskrit language each consonant can be associated with a number.
This enables text to be translated into numbers and there are various
advantages in doing this. Some other languages have a similar method: Greek
and Hebrew for example.
